Perhaps you’ve heard the yoga phrase, “we don’t use our body to get into the pose, we use the pose to get into our body.”
The essence of YIN is yielding and acceptance (just BE), as opposed to YANG which is change (just DO).
YIN promotes the flow of energy (the NADIS or Meridian lines) through gently stressing the connective tissues of the body, removing ‘blockages’ by getting the blood and lymph system flowing. In YIN, we hold poses a bit longer as we settle into the asanas, which can be wonderfully conducive for moments of silent prayer.
Join us for this series of YIN classes as we use the lingering asanas to settle in to our bodies. We will use these lingering asanas to focus on the “just BE” while incorporating guided, silent prayer (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving and Supplication)
